1Cheated in online share trading, is it a criminal matter?
Yes, if someone gets you to invest money with false promises and then disappears, it can become a criminal case under section 420 (cheating) and section 406 (misappropriation of trust) of the IPC.

Preserve the original post, URL, profile details, timestamps, screenshots and device data; report the content to the platform and the official cybercrime portal, and seek urgent police help if there are threats. The applicable IT Act and BNS provisions depend on whether the conduct involves privacy violation, obscenity, stalking, intimidation, impersonation or sexual content; not every edited image attracts every listed section.
7How to use electronic evidence in court?
Preserve original devices, screenshots, metadata, certificates, date-times and sources. Without authentication, electronic material may become vulnerable.
